Ron DeSantis (Colin Hackley)

Listen from 19:56:

First we discuss what DeSantis’s latest campaign ploy — the publication of a book touting his supposed achievements — says about his politics.

This is chilling because it is the ambition of a wannabe autocrat.

When he writes about “how to leverage my authority to advance our agenda”, he’s not talking about Americans or his constituents in Florida. He’s talking about himself and his hard-right supporters.

This is even more chilling than what we had with Donald Trump — because DeSantis is a lot smarter than Trump.

Then we take apart the admission of Fox TV head Rupert Murdoch — facing a $1.6 billion lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems over disinformation on the channel — that his star polemicists knew they were putting out false assertions about the 2020 Presidential election.

As for Murdoch and Fox TV:

His admission about the past makes little difference if he is going to allow — for ratings, profits, or just exposure — a far-right extremist demagogue like Tucker Carlson on the airwaves night after night after night.
