Just before UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson faced a no-confidence vote by MPs of his Conservative Party on Monday evening, I spoke with India Ahead about the prospect of him surviving the ballot but as a “damaged” leader of the party and the country.

I review Johnson’s incompetence, negligence, and lies before discussing the politics around the vote — and who might succeed him in case of his unexpected defeat.
