I joined Pakistan’s PTV World on Friday for a 50-minute discussion of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, with the issue at the top of the agenda for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference in Islamabad.

What can the OIC do, perhaps in cooperation with others in the international community, to alleviate the imminent crisis? What is the position of Western countries? And will there be an effective Taliban administration in Afghanistan which is inclusive and respectful of political and social rights?
Everybody needs to be working on the humanitarian issue, rather than on the question of the formal recognition of the Taliban.
