In our latest 15-minute UK Week in Review, I spoke with talkRADIO’s Darryl Morris on Friday about whether the Government’s latest declarations on Coronavirus will match up with effective action for containment.

We juxtapose the “cheerleading” of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as he gave his first press conference after surviving the virus, with the reality of almost 27,000 confirmed deaths, the lack of a Government plan, issues over testing and personal protective equipment, and the refusal — accompanied by deception — to acknowledge any responsibility for the virulence of the outbreak.

It’s great to cheerlead. But in a crisis, people need to have trust in a Government. And to have trust in a Government, they need clarity on what is going forward.

As long as Boris Johnson is not willing to admit mistakes were made, there will be uncertainty.

We also discuss the disconnect between Donald Trump’s unsupported accusations about China and Coronavirus and the assessment of the US intelligence community that the virus was not man-made or genetically modified.
