Donald Trump and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, on the North Korean side of the demilitarized zone, June 30, 2019
I joined talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer on Monday to discuss Donald Trump’s photo opportunity with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un.
We cut through the headline spectacle to examine whether the encounter leads to any substance for renewed US-North Korea negotiations, as American officials consider a shift from a demand for “denuclearization” to acceptance of North Korean nuclear weapons and missiles under a “freeze”.
Trump doesn’t really care about North Korea beyond getting the photo. And then it’s up to US negotiators to pick up the pieces….Can they sweep up after the circus has gone through?
