I spoke with George Howell of CNN International on Sunday morning about the latest politics around Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, with the White House limiting the scope of the FBI investigation into allegations of sexual assault by three women.
This is a tug-of-war. The Republicans who support Kavanaugh will want to shift this towards the idea that allegations are false, without naming Ford or Deborah Ramirez. Democrats will maintain the focus on the idea that these are credible allegations — not proven, but credible — and that these allegations come before any attempt at political spin.
