In a special edition of the Political Worldview podcast, four University of Birmingham students — Danniella Verity, David Cogan, Zaid Salam, and Ryan Bennett — join Dr Adam Quinn and British politics expert Mark Goodwin to discuss the UK general election. They consider the parties, the policies, the social media echo-chamber, and the vexed question of why youth turnout is not higher.
While there are some positive signs of young people registering to vote and looking more engaged in the system, I think overall this election is not being framed as an election which welcomes young people into the political arena.
