I spoke with Monocle 24’s The Briefing on Monday afternoon about President Obama’s announcement that — breaking with precedent — he may speak out if he has concerns about his successor Donald Trump’s actions.
The discussion soon moved beyond Obama and the Democratic Party to consider what an effective response to a Trump Presidency should be.
To be blunt, I don’t think we can just say, “Look to the Democrats or look to the people in Congress.” The issues are so serious that we are going to have to revive grass-root movements.
