Two suicide bombers have blown themselves up at a mosque in Yemen’s capital Sana’a.

The Blili Mosque, overseen by the ruling Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement, was holding services on the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Witnesses said there were “many casualties”. Al Arabiya claims at least 15 people were killed.

Ansar Allah took control of Sana’a in March, forcing President Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi to flee first to Aden in southern Yemen, then to Saudi Arabia.

Weeks later, Saudi Arabia and its allies launched airstrikes to check Ansar Allah’s advance through Yemen, including towards Aden. Thousands of people have been killed in the subsequent conflict.

In March, 142 people were killed and more than 350 wounded in the suicide bombings of four mosques in Sana’a. Three weeks ago, an Islamic State bombing killed at least 28 people in a mosque in the capital.
