“Shoresh”, an American from California fighting with the Kurdish militia YPG, talks about the fight versus the Islamic State in Til Temir, northwest of Haskakeh city in eastern Syria.
Kurdish forces have taken a series of villages in Hasakeh Province from the Islamic State this month, pushing back a jihadist advance in late February and threatening further the Islamic State’s hold on much of eastern Syria.
The YPG claimed on Friday that they repelled an Islamic State assault, killing 74 jihadists at a cost of 5 Kurdish lives.
“Sores” says, in the video posted on Saturday:
We have been going back-and-forth, battling within grenade range,…for six days. We’re holding strong, though, and are killing them every chance we get.
The YPG fighters are fierce warriors. We are doing everything we can to free the people from ISIS/Daesh, from the fascists that they are.
God willing, we’ll kill every last one of them to protect these innocent people in Til Temir and all of Rojava [Syrian Kurdistan].
