Three members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have been killed by Turkish police after they raided a hydroelectric power plant in Kars Province in eastern Turkey.

Authorities said four PKK members refused to surrender when challenged and opened fire as they tried to flee in a car. They claim
four AK-47s and scores of hand grenades were discovered in the vehicle.
