SUMMARY: Syrian State media report that General Jameh Jameh, the head of military intelligence in Deir Ezzor Province in the east of the country, has been killed by insurgents.

Jameh “was martyred while carrying out his national duties to defend Syria and its people and pursuing terrorists in Deir Ezzor,” State TV and websites reported.

There was no confirmation of how Jameh died, amid claims he was shot by a sniper in Deir Ez Zor city.

There has been fighting in and near Deir Ez Zor, Syria’s 7th-largest city, for months. Insurgents control most of the province.

Jameh was one of the top security officers during Syria;s occupation of Lebanon between 1976 and 2005.

In 2006, the General was blacklisted by the US Government for supporting “terrorist groups” and his role in Lebanon.

Protesters in the village of Kafranbel in Idlib Province — noted for its powerful and eye-catching protest banners in English — took to the streets on Friday with banners protesting Assad’s siege and bombardment of the West Ghouta town of Moadamiyyat Ash Sham.

The banner reads, “ANOTHER SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION IS NEEDED TO STOP ASSAD MAKING THE PEOPLE OF MOADAMIYYIA STARVE TO DEATH”.

Media Activists In Raqqa Report ISIS Kidnap Of Radio ANA Reporter, Closure of Radio Studio

Media activists in Raqqa have reported that fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Ash Sham broke into the studio of the Radio ANA (Activists News Association) in the city and kidnapped the radio’s reporter, Rami Al Razzouk.

The activists report that the ISIS fighters have also confiscated the radio broadcasting equipment and closed down the radio studio.

Jihadi sources have published an image depicting what they claim is the current situation at Aleppo Central Prison, with Islamist brigades holding two of the main buildings and pro-regime forces in one building. FiSyria, a Russian-language pro-jihad site that monitors Islamist groups in Syria, writes that the offensive began after Jabhat al Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Ash Sham carried out a suicide bombing on October 15, driving an explosives-packed BMP into the prison wall.

Casualties

The Local Coordination Committees claim 81 people were killed on Thursday including 32 in Aleppo Province and 14 in Damascus and its suburbs.

The Violations Documentation Center records that 76,078 people have been killed since March 2011, a rise of 60 from Thursday. Of the dead, 56,710 are civilians, an increase of 40 since yesterday
