Fierce clashes continue on Sunday inside Deir Ez Zor, Syria’s seventh-largest city. Regime forces are shelling several areas of the city including the Al Hawiqah district, which insurgents captured on Saturday. Insurgents are defending positions in Al Hawiqah while attacking regime positions from the neighborhood.

Footage from Saturday and Sunday also showed captured regime militia being questioned by the opposition after their capture.

Activists and insurgents are documenting the events of the battle as they unfold, and we will add new videos here as they are posted. We also include here footage from events of the past several days.

Videos From Monday:

Shelling in Al-Hussainiyeh, a neighborhood on the opposite bank of the Euphrates River from Al Hawiqah:

Insurgents from the Jund al-Aziz Brigade attack a regime tank in Al Hawiqah:

Insurgents from the Jund al-Aziz Brigade fire mortars on regime forces:

Footage showing a sniper’s eye view of the Al-Siyasiyeh Bridge that crosses the Euphrates River into the Al Uthmaniyah neighborhood, immediately adjacent to the insurgent-held Al Hawiqah neighborhood. We see the sniper’s “den”, from which he can observe regime forces attempting to cross the bridge and threaten insurgent positions:

Since Saturday’s insurgent advances, the regime has begun fighting back including with airstrikes — knowing that the insurgents do not have anti-aircraft missiles. This amateur footage shows the aftermath of a MiG airstrike on Monday:

Insurgent Capture of Al Hawiqah

There are several videos showing insurgents celebrating the moment that they took the Al Hawiqa neighborhood on Saturday:

Here, insurgents lay out a set of homemade rockets, which they use to target regime positions in the city (the image of a large marijuana leaf on the T-shirt of one rather young insurgent would indicate that this is not an Islamist brigade):

Capture Of The Baath Party Headquarters

The Baath Party Headquarters is bombed on Sunday:

However, the insurgents are not just involved in fighting, but also in vital cleanup operations to ensure that their gains in the city can be maintained. In this footage, from Sunday, the Sons of Islam Brigade use a small bulldozer to repair a vital bridge (it is not clear which bridge but possibly the Al Mullaq Bridge that crosses the Euphrates into Al Hawiqah). The faction’s Islamist flags are posted on the bridge.

And amid the fighting, bread production in Deir Ez Zor continues:
