EA on BBC: Lindsey Graham’s Death and the Trumpist Takeover of the Republican Party
I joined Dublin NewsTalk’s Pat Kenny Show on Saturday to review the week in US politics, including the Trump camp’s floundering war on Iran.
I discuss the fundamental issue of Tehran’s leverage over the Strait of Hormuz. Then I look at Israel’s war in southern Lebanon, seeking a long-term zone of occupation, and Iran’s show of resistance with the threat to kill Donald Trump.
On the home front, I analyse the threat of the Trump camp manipulating November’s vote as it effectively abolishes the Election Assistance Commission and tries to restrict ballots that might favor the Democrats. I also try to figure out the strange case of the disappearance of Mitch McConnell, the former Senate Majority Leader.
I then head back overseas to consider the significance of Trump’s vague pledge to help Ukraine with air defenses.
We close with the decline in Trump’s mental and physical health, shown during his appearance at the NATO Summit in Ankara.
It is hilarious to see you and others attempt to say Trump is suffering from mental decline. Unlike Biden, who was essentially hidden until a televised national debate, Trump is in public view for hours on a daily basis and the American public doesn’t see the problem you are attempting to create.
