An hour later, six civilians were murdered and 12 wounded in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine. In the evening, four people were slain in Dnipro in the southeast.
At the outset of Tuesday, Russian strikes on State-run gas facilities in the Poltava and Kharkiv regions killed three employees and two rescue workers.
Zelensky emphasized, “It is important for Russia to be forced to stop this war of theirs. Silence without such and other strikes is needed every day, not just a few hours somewhere for ‘celebrations. Lives must be protected.”
The President had proposed a ceasefire beginning at the start of Wednesday. Russia’s Victory Day, marking triumph over Germany in World War II, is on Friday.
