EA on Pakistan TV: US-Israel War — Iran Calls Trump’s Bluff
EA on International Outlets: Iran Tightens Its Control of Strait of Hormuz
I joined Times Radio’s Maddie Hale on Thursday for a 34-minute analysis of the mounting problems for Donald Trump at home and abroad.
I begin with Trump’s irrational and chaotic behavior as his mental health deteriorates.
But I then call on the media to go beyond the reality TV star when they analyze his Administration amid the US-Israel War on Iran and Lebanon, the economic shocks, and domestic discontent.
Stop listening to Donald Trump. If you are headlining Trump’s tweets, his latest phone call with his friends at Fox, or his remarks in one of those gaggles outside the White House…
…You are not doing your job.
We begin with the Administration’s latest struggles in its war on Iran, as Trump unilaterally extended a ceasefire and Tehran tightening its grip on the Strait of Hormuz despite a US blockade.
Pulling back from a ground invasion and reluctant to compromise in talks with Iran, the Administration is now pursuing “Operation Economic Fury” to break the regime. But does it have any chance of success?
I work through Maddie’s question, “How can other countries deal with an erratic Trump?” And we consider the domestic consequences of a war which Trump insisted would last only “four to six weeks”.
If that’s not enough turmoil, we take apart the firing of Navy Secretary John Phelan, the latest victim of the purge of officials and commanders in the Pentagon by Trump and Defense Secretary “Popgun” Pete Hegseth.
We conclude by looking at how long Trump can last.
