EA-Times Radio VideoCast: “Trump Has No Good Options on Greenland”
In a 23-minute analysis, I discuss with PoliticsJOE’s Ava Santina why it was likely that Donald Trump would retreat over his threat to seize Greenland.
The chat was recorded on Tuesday. The following day, at the Davos World Economic Forum, Trump withdrew the possibility of a military invasion. Hours after that, he dropped his declaration of tariffs — 10% on February 1, rising to 25% on June 1 — on eight European countries who supported Greenland by sending military personnel to the island.
Why?
Last April, when Trump came out with his nonsense “Liberation Day” made-up tariffs, he had to pull back because the American bond market went wobbly.
In the past 24 to 48 hours, there has again been discussion of a pull-out from American bonds.
I also emphasize that the threat comes not just from Trump but from others in the Administration, however:
They are like a dog chasing a car. If they ever catch up to the car, “Oh, what do we do next?”
