I joined Times Radio’s Trump Report for a 32-minute deep dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly of US politics this week.
Host Maddie Hale and I begin with the bad — the very bad — of the Trump Administration trying to impose its will on Congress while cutting health care for tens of millions of Americans.
We set out the issues while exposing the lies about the Government shutdown. And we ask how much pain Trump supporters will endure before they finally think of distancing themselves from him.
There’s some relief in the good: the confirmation that the US is providing intelligence support for Ukraine’s long-range strikes inside Russia. Could there be even more with the supply of American long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kyiv?
But it’s back to the ugly: Pete Hegseth and Trump trying to impose their will on the military, summoning more than 800 commanders to Washington for rambling tirades.
We discuss the irony of “Popgun Pete”, with his past relationship with the bottle and dubious tattoos, lecturing generals and admirals about their appearance and “telling them not to be girls”. Then we get very serious about Trump threatening to use American cities and his perceived “enemies” as “training grounds” for military operations.
We close with a look at a developing rift: angered with Trump’s tariffs and threats, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting Vladimir Putin on December 5-6.
