EA on TVP World: Will Trump Get Tough With Putin Over Ukraine?
I joined Times Radio’s Trump Report on Monday for a 23-minute VideoCast analyzing whether Donald Trump will finally get tough with Russia over Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
I chat with Jo Crawford about Trump’s frustration with Putin’s refusal of a ceasefire, leading to a vague “deadline” for the Kremlin to comply or face toughened sanctions and tariffs, including on trading partners such as China and India.
But I note how Putin will try to push away the threat by hosting Trump’s envoy, real estate developer Steve Witkoff, on Wednesday.
Witkoff is an envoy on multiple fronts: Iran, Israel-Gaza, Russia. The guy’s not a qualified diplomat, he’s not a qualified negotiator.
That’s the risk: the Kremlin spins him and Trump backs off. He does not “walk the walk”.
