UPDATE, JULY 8:
In a 20-minute discussion, I chat with PoliticsJOE’s Ava Santina about the end of the Trump-Musk torrid love affair and the chances for Elon Musk to get revenge with “The America Party”.
This is a guy who wants power. He has a lot of money, he has influence, he has ego.
Donald Trump has all of those as well. The difference is that, at the end of the day, Donald Trump also has the Oval Office. Elon Musk doesn’t.
I also cut to the chase why — unlike other leaders — British Prime Minister Keir Starmer cannot stand up to Trump.
The UK is screwed because of Brexit.
ORIGINAL ENTRY, JULY 7: I joined UK outlets on Sunday to evaluate Elon Musk’s announcement of “The America Party” to challenge Trumpist Republicans.
While recognizing the significance in Musk’s escalating feud with Donald Trump, I summarize, “It’s one thing to tweet that you’re going to form a new political party. It’s a very, very different thing to actually organize that party.”
I consider the scale of the effort needed even to challenge for 2 to 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 for the House, as Musk envisages, particularly with only 16 months before the November 2026 mid-term elections.
