UPDATE 1619 GMT:
Iran has conveyed its official response to the US proposal through Pakistani mediators, rejecting the American conditions for an end to the US-Israel War.
Iranian State media said the response consists of 10 clauses, including an end to all conflicts in the region, a protocol for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting of sanctions, and provisions for reconstruction.
Donald Trump has responded that his Tuesday 8 p.m. “deadline” for Iranian capitulation is final, saying Iran’s proposal is significant but not good enough.
He said US campaign will continue because the regime they “just don’t want to say ‘uncle’” and surrender.
“If they don’t, they’ll have no bridges, they’ll have no power plants, no anything,” he threatened.
Trump: "We are obliterating their country, and they just don't want to say 'uncle.' But they will. And if they don't, they'll have no bridges, no power plants, no anything. I won't go further because there are other things that are worse than those two, and we might have — well,… pic.twitter.com/zHUCGSwgT6

UPDATE 1301 GMT:
European Council President António Costa has posted:
The Iranian civilian population is the main victim of the Iranian regime. It would also be the main victim of a widening of the military campaign.
The European Union urges Iran to immediately put an end to its attacks against countries in the region and to allow for the reestablishment of full freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
After five weeks of war in the Middle East, it is clear that only a diplomatic solution will settle its root causes.
Any targeting of civilian infrastructure, namely energy facilities, is illegal and unacceptable. This applies to Russia’s war in Ukraine and it applies…

ORIGINAL ENTRY: Throughout Sunday, Donald Trump threatened war crimes against Iran in the US-Israel War, including in a foul-mouth, blasphemous tweet.
Angered and frustrated that the Iranian regime has not surrendered — and not knowing how to bring about the capitulation, Trump raged about strikes on civilian infrastructure:
Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!
Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.
Trump later proclaimed the success of his threat, with a “good chance” of an agreement with Iran on Monday. He then doubled down over the possible war crimes: “If they don’t make a deal and fast, I’m considering blowing everything up and taking over the oil.”
“Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!” he posted.
Iran rejected Trump’s new deadline. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responded:
1/ Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every single family, and our whole region is going to burn because you insist on following Netanyahu’s commands.
Make no mistake: You won’t gain anything through war crimes.
— محمدباقر قالیباف | MB Ghalibaf (@mb_ghalibaf) April 5, 2026
Iran’s military declared, “If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread.”
Trump has made similar threats in recent weeks as Iran retaliates with strikes on Israel and the Gulf States and maintains control of the Strait of the Hormuz, through which around 25% of the world’s maritime oil and 20% of maritime gas passes. On each occasion, he has extended or backed away from his “deadline”.
But energy markets showed their concern over the vehemence of Trump’s latest tirade. Crude oil prices opened higher on Monday, with West Texas Intermediate – the US benchmark – rising 1.86% to more than $112 a barrel and Brent climbing above $110.
