In a pilot episode, I joined the flagship news program of Ireland’s RTE, PrimeTime, to consider the Trump camp’s next step in the US-Israel War on Iran.
Working with maps and graphics, host Sarah McInerney and I set out the geography of the war. We evaluate the possibilities and challenges for any US assault, from the sea or the air, on Iranian islands — notably Kharg Island, through which more than 90% of Iran’s oil passes — or the Iranian mainland.
And as news broke of the Trump camp’s 15-point “plan” and Donald Trump’s declaration of “talks” with Iran, we sort out hype from reality over the US-Iranian contacts.
