Donald Trump and Iran’s Supreme Leader
EA on Amargi and Talk TV: Can Iran-US Talks Avert Trump’s War?
EA on DW News: Epstein Files — Was Trump Involved in Sexual Abuse of Teenage Girl in Mid-1980s?
In a 36-minute discussion, I rejoined Times Radio’s Maddie Hale on Thursday to analyze two stories: a possible Trump Administration air war on Iran, and the latest evidence — despite the White House’s stonewalling — which might implicate Donald Trump in the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein.
I go into detail about the rhetoric and maneuvers of both the Trump camp and Iran’s regime. While the two sides just held their second set of talks over Tehran’s nuclear programme, the US now has more than a dozen warships and scores of fighter jets off the Iranian coast and in the region.
My assessment for now? The Trumpists are holding a Sword of Damocles over the regime’s head, trying to force a capitulation to US demands.
But could the threat to Iran also be a diversion from the pressure on Trump over the Epstein Files: both the fragments that have been released and the large majority that are being withheld by the Administration?
While expressing skepticism over the possibility, I note the scraps of evidence that have made it through the Trumpist blockade — interviewing the FBI’s interviews of a survivor in connection with an alleged rape and assault of her, when she was a teenager in the mid-1980s, by both Epstein and Trump.
Whatever happens in Iran, Epstein does not go away.
And it should not go away. Because justice for the victims — it isn’t here yet, but it should still be pursued.
