I joined Ukraine’s War and Politics 24 for a 35-minute deep dive into the state of Russia’s 4-year invasion.
I explain to hosts Daniel Tkiie and Sofia Nazarenko that Ukraine-Russia-US talks are unlikely to lead to a ceasefire. The Kremlin is maintaining its demands for Ukrainian surrender, hoping to manipulate Donald Trump and his officials into supporting its seizure of more territory and weakening the rest of Ukraine.
But they have not yet succeeded. Russia is gaining little ground on the frontlines, and its attacks on energy infrastructure have not broken Ukrainian resistance.
