EA on International Media: Trump’s “Act of War” with Abduction of Venezuela’s Maduro

UPDATE 1500 GMT:

I joined Sky News on Tuesday morning to talk about the 5th anniversary of Donald Trump’s coup attempt, calling on supporters to block the Congressional confirmation of President Joe Biden, and the abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

UPDATE, JAN 6:

In a 20-minute discussion, I join India’s NewsX World for a wider look at power and the threat to international order.

After discussing who wields power — corporations, activists, States — I summarize:

I then discuss the state of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Trump camp’s invasion of Venezuela to abduct President Nicolás Maduro.

I analyze how this is part of the Trump Administration’s effort to dominate the Western Hemisphere. I detail its warnings — and how far it might go with political, economic, and military pressure — on Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, and Greenland.

The opening nine minutes of the conversation:
