I joined Byline Times’ Adrian Goldberg on Sunday for a 27-minute evaluation of the Trump Administration’s abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

Using the historical context of US relations — and “regime change” — in Latin America since the 1823 Monroe Doctrine as well as the Trump Administration’s maneuvers, I delve into the multiple motives for the kidnapping: the egos of Donald Trump and advisors like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump’s desire to take Venezuelan oil, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s quest for “regime coercion”, making Caracas obey US demands.

I put all of that together in a wider mission, as Trump threatens Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, and even Greenland: his “Donro Doctrine” quest for his inner circle to dominate the Western Hemisphere.
