I joined a panel on Virgin TV’s The Tonight Show on Tuesday to consider how far beyond Venezuela the Trump camp will go in political, economic, and military assaults.
We begin with the White House announcement that all options, including military action, are on the table to seize Greenland from Denmark.
While assessing that the Trumpists’ initial move will be an economic attempt to control an independent Greenland, I note the increasing danger of their quest for “dominance”, not just in the Western Hemisphere but over Europe.
The panel discusses the Trump quest for “regime coercion” in Venezuela, following the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro. Then we look at the response from Ireland, Europe, and the international community: how far should they going in calling out the Trumpist destruction of international law and order?
