In a 24-minute special VideoCast, I chat with Kate Gerbeau on Times Radio’s Frontline about the origin of the Trump-Kremlin “plan” for Ukraine’s capitulation and why it will — and must — be rejected by Kyiv and its European partners.

I explain the interaction between Trump’s envoy/real estate developer Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and the Russians, who leaked the discussions to the media to put pressure on the Trump Administration to implement the plan.

But I note resistance within the Administration to the plotting, despite the departure of Donald Trump’s envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg. And I emphasize that Ukraine and Europe cannot be forced to agree to the capitulation.

I also address Ukraine’s corruption scandal, and I close with thoughts — drawn from my friends in Ukraine — of how and why they continue to sacrifice and resist.
