EA on International Outlets: Mamdani’s Victory in New York…and Beyond
Just before New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani outmaneuvered Donald Trump in the White House, I took down the lies and insults of Trumpist mouthpiece Rob Artlett, the former Delaware State campaign chair.
In the 13-minute discussion on Al Arabiya English, Artlett begins by proclaiming Mamdani “a socialist and a Communist”.
I wasn’t having that, particularly with the priority of dealing with issues.
To call Zohran Mamdani a Communist is the politics of insult that draws upon the American history of Red Scares after World War I and World War II. It is saying, “Anyone we don’t like, we are going to call an extremist.”
It would be far more productive if both Mayor-elect Mamdani and Donald Trump focus on the issues. Is it right and proper to bring down the cost of housing? Is it right to bring down the cost of food? Is it right to provide fare-free transport? Is it right to provide free child care?
Professor of International Politics Scott Lucas explains how the question of whether New York’s incoming mayor can work with President Trump has been shaped by claims that he is a communist.#Trump #Mamdani @ScottLucas_EA pic.twitter.com/7L79xPwakl

Perhaps needless to say, Artlett will not discuss the issues. So it is back to taking part his scaremongering and name-calling.
I think it’s sad that instead of possibilities, you have the resort to insults and lies.
Donald Trump’s expansion of Government hasn’t helped people. What Zohran Mamdani is laying out, not as a Communist, are programs to help people.
It is my hope that Donald Trump could embraces those programs because it is the politics of being constructive rather than destructive that we should be seeking.
