Elon Musk’s video message to the far-right gathering in London led by convict Tommy Robinson: “Fight back or die”)

Elon Musk’s Not-So-Secret Mission: Overthrow the UK Government

UPDATE 1715 GMT:

Alongside James Ball of The New World magazine, I spoke with BBC Radio Scotland’s Kaye Adams about the motives for Elon Musk’s support of the convict Tommy Robinson and a far-right rally in London on Saturday.

I begin with Musk’s attempt at the start of 2025 to overthrow the UK Government, using his social media platform X to push disinformation and invective. I look at Musk’s support for white supremacist movements across Europe, and how it intersects with the maneuvers of activists like Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon and the political ambitions of the UK Reform Party.

Musk’s vision is that Europe has been corrupted by immigration and by the so-called “Left”, so he has latched onto far-right movements.

So how to deal with Elon Musk?

You have to deal with your own society and the issues that Musk tries to exploit. Many people are agitated and fearful, and that anger and fear is fuelled by misinformation and disinformation.

This begins with the UK Government being responsible about immigration, to talk about the challenges but also to talk about the contributions that immigrants have made.

It has to include other organizations: business, media outlets, legal outlets, and activists calling for dialogue rather than division.

ORIGINAL ENTRY: I joined India’s NDTV on Monday to analyze how the UK far right is whipping up division, hatred, and xenophobia in their quest for power — and how Donald Trump and Elon Musk are helping them.

The other guest is immigration lawyer Harjap Singh Bhangal, who speaks about heightened concern amid the Indian community in Britain amid the far right’s threat of hate speech and violence.

We evaluate the far right’s gathering in London on Saturday, the largest in recent UK history. We talk about the Reform Party’s attempt to exploit the division to move from 4 MPs to a place in Government.

And we consider what the current Starmer Government, the media, UK instititions, and activists can do to stop the descent.
