EA on TVP World: Trump-Europe, Tariffs, and Ukraine

I joined Times Radio’s Frontline on Monday for a 35-minute analysis of the latest developments in Ukraine’s resistance of Russia’s 41-month full-scale invasion.

Host Philip Ingram and I analyze issues over military stocks and the economy for Vladimir Putin as his forces make only limited and expensive gains in eastern Ukraine.

We consider the possible effect of toughened sanctions on Russia and those who trade with it, notably China and India.

And we evaluate a victory for Ukrainians and their democracy, as protests and international criticism press President Volodymyr Zelensky into revision of legislation on anti-corruption agencies.

I conclude:

At the end of the day, this is not going to be a “winning” which is a military victory over Russia.

It is a “winning” in the ability to withstand the most serious assault on European soil since 1945, as a smaller country maintaining the nation and democracy.
