EA-Times Radio VideoCast: Epstein Files, Trump’s Cankles, and the Economy
UPDATE 1638 GMT:
I also spoke with BBC outlets on Thursday about the mounting problems for Donald Trump from the Epstein Files.
To listen, you need to be in the UK or to have a VPN:
Listen to BBC Radio Scotland from 1:37.00
I explain why a judge has ruled that Epstein’s grand jury transcripts cannnot be released and evaluate how the Trump camp now tries to buy time.
I discuss reports that Trump’s name appears multiple times in the files, and I consider why some of his supporters will still demand the release of the documents.
They are saying, “For years you told us that the files implicated Democrats and other key figures in the establishment. Now we can’t find out who they are”.
So for Trump, it’s put up or shut up.
But will those supporters abandon Trump because of this?
ORIGINAL ENTRY: In a 26-minute deep dive podcast with the Irish Times’ In The News, I connect Donald Trump’s allegation of “treason” against Barack Obama with his ongoing attempt to bury his years of collaboration with Russia — and with to divert from his political trouble over the files of the late Jeffrey Epstein.
I take Bernice Harrison through the facts of Trump’s links with Russia, including Moscow’s support for his 2016 Presidential campaign and his subsequent, likely illegal cover-up of the affair.
I note Trump’s projection on others of the crimes which he may have committed: the claim by him and his Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, of an Obama “coup” says more about Trump’s possible guilt on January 6, 2021 with instigation of the Capitol Attack and attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
I rip apart Gabbard’s filmsy 11-page “report” trying to deny the Trump-Russia links, noting her personal interest in the affair.
And I discuss the intersection between the timing of this “report” and the Trump Administration’s refusal to release the files of Epstein, a long-time friend of Trump convicted of sexual abuse of underage girls.
