Hours before Donald Trump was arraigned on 37 Federal felony counts over his theft of classified documents on Tuesday, EA’s David Dunn spoke with Turkey’s TRT World about the hearing and the forthcoming trial.
We do not know yet what his legal defense will be. Last week his two main lawyers resigned after seeing the charges in the 49-page indictment and the case put together against Trump….
What Trump is trying to do is to make this not about the criminal charges by claiming it is a political act and rallying his supporters.
[Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, this comment is factually illiterate.
Trump was impeached twice with cause and saved only because of a Republican majority in the Senate. He had *no* right of access to classified documents after he left the White House, and he certainly had no right — indeed, it is illegal — to move those documents without permission.]
“What Trump is trying to do is to make this not about the criminal charges by claiming it is a political act and rallying his supporters.”
How is any of this not a political act? How many Presidents have been impeached twice (and acquitted both times) and now charged with possession of classified documents (that they were given access to)? This is a naked attempt to disqualify the main rival to Biden. If it were happening in Russia, it would be seen in the West as just that.
