On September 8, 2013, regime warplanes struck the Al Houleh region, north of Homs, at least five times. (English Subtitles.)

After the air raids, local citizen journalists shot this footage inside a makeshift hospital in the area.

Before the violence began, Al Houleh, or Houla, was a peaceful small village, part of cluster of villages in a small farming region. Now the area is throttled by a regime-imposed siege. Last year, residents reported a mass killing, which they blamed on pro-regime forces, that left scores of villagers dead.

The regime has also been bombarding the area with airstrikes.

In the video, a paramedic says that the hospital is dealing with a number of victims including with critical injuries.

“This means most of the injuries were life-threatening,” he adds.

The footage shows doctors trying to treat some of those who have been injured.
