EA-Times Radio Video: Donald Trump’s American “Banana Republic”

EA’s David Dunn joined Dublin News Talk’s Pat Kenny Show on Sunday to analyze the latest chaos in TrumpLand.

In the 16-minute chat, David discusses the killing of a disturbed armed man near the White House, noting how it reflects the violence in US society: “It’s easier to get a gun than it is to get mental health provision.”

He then evaluates the possibility of a framework deal to end the US-Israel War on Iran, noting the domestic pressure on Donald Trump amid his “reckless gamble to remove the regime”.

In many ways, Iran has been strengthened by this. They control the Strait of Hormuz, and they have the ability to hold at risk a lot of oil infrastructure in the region.

David cuts through “the chaotic nature” of US decision-making and a “spiteful” Trump over the confusion about American troops deployments in Europe. He notes the wider significance of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement: “In the long run, Europe, you are on your own.”

And he summarizes Ukraine’s move from resistance to strength as the Trump camp “washes its hands” of Russia’s invasion.
