Podcast: North Korea Drops the Hammer on Trump

I joined Monocle 24’s The Briefing on Wednesday to discuss North Korea’s switch of tactics with the Trump Administration, moving from conciliatory gestures to a threat to scrap the June 12 summit between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump.

The discussion explains the reasons both behind the North Korean postponement of a meeting with South Korean officials and its pushback of any US efforts for “denuclearization”, with special — and tactically shrewd — criticism of National Security Advisor John Bolton.
