I joined Natalie Allen of CNN International on Sunday morning to why explain why Donald Trump is hanging on to Environmental Protection Agency head Scott Pruitt, despite (or because of) Pruitt’s gutting of the agency and multiple claims of ethical violence and spending irregularities.

The discussion explains how Pruitt’s retention has to be seen in a Trump style, modelled on his business approach, which welcomes in-fighting and even chaos and turns upon Trump’s personal like or dislike of an advisor.

Oh, and there’s the small matter that — amid the Trump-Russia investigation — Trump wants to keep Pruitt as a replacement for Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The question is now: if Scott Pruitt is being protected, is Chief of Staff John Kelly being undercut because he may have to go?
