I joined Al Jazeera English’s Inside Story on Friday for a 25-minute discussion of gun control in the US, following the surge in activism after the February 14 mass killing of 17 people at a Florida high school.

The other panellists are Richard Feldman, former Regional Political Director of the National Rifle Association, and Paul Barrett, the author of “Glock: The Rise of America’s Gun”.

The spread of the message from the Douglas High School survivors, coupled with the silence from the White House for several days about gun control, meant that all of a sudden we had a groundswell which is not just rhetoric but a demand for action.
