Last week there were more revelations pointing to the possibility of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian officials during the 2016 election, specifically over hacked e-mails from Hillary Clinton’s private server.

A Republican political operative, Peter W. Smith, approached cyber-specialists as he considered whether to work with Russian hackers. During those discussions, he circulated a document which proposed a company linked to four entities — one of them the Trump campaign, naming staff like current White House strategist Steve Bannon and White House counsel Kellyanne Conway. Smith was also close to Michael Flynn, then a Trump campaign advisor and later National Security Advisor.

So could this be a significant development leading to the departure of Donald Trump from the White House? I worked through the analysis on Monocle 24’s The Globalist on Monday morning.
