One of the dual nationals imprisoned in Iran, Iranian-American Reza “Robin” Shahini, has been released on bail.

Shahini, detained since July, posted bail of about $60,000, the Human Rights Activists News Agency reported.

The student from California was arrested by the Revolutionary Guards while visiting family in the northeastern city of Gorgan. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison on charges of threatening national security.

Shahini reportedly went on a month-long hunger strike recently, and his health situation hads been deteriorating, said HRANA.

The Revolutionary Guards have detained a series of dual nationals since autumn 2015, including Iranian-American oil executive Siamak Namazi; his 80-year-old Iranian-Canadian father Baqer, a former UNICEF official and Iranian provincial governor; Anglo-Iranian charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe; Iranian-American Karan Vafadari and his wife Afarin Neyssari, art gallery owners in Tehran; and Lebanese-Iranian national and US resident Nazar Zaka

The Namazis and Zaka have each received 10-year prison sentences, Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been given a five-year term, and Vafadari and Neyssari are awaiting sentences.
