What Obama tried to do was get order in the immigration system.

What Trump’s doing is not installing order. He’s saying, “Let’s go wholesale and ensure certain categories of immigrants can be chucked out regardless of outstanding legal cases.”

He’s not trying to get back to a sensible position on immigration, and 11 million people are now in limbo with no legal recourse.

The guidelines not only might violate international laws, but also raise the question of relationships with other countries like Mexico.
