ORIGINAL ENTRY: Ahead of Wednesday night’s third and final Presidential debate, I spoke with BBC Radio Foyle about the state of the campaigns of Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton.

Listen to discussion

The conversation crystallizes around the question, “Does Trump still have a chance?”, amid controversies over his refusal to release tax returns and his alleged sexual abuse of women and Clinton’s rising lead in the polls.

Tonight’s debate is really Trump’s last big chance to pull it together. He’s got to show that he’s not out of control, frankly, that he’s not dangerous to those people who are still undecided.

If he can do that, and if at the same time Clinton performs poorly, then we might still have to worry about a Trump Presidency.

There’s also discussion — with much pessimism — about the state of US politics and the media, as shown through this campaign.
