Filmmaker Waad al-Katib tells the story, from Syria’s largest city Aleppo, of a baby born during a pro-Assad airstrike last month.

Nine months pregnant, Mayissa is brought into hospital with broken limbs and shrapnel in her abdomen. Doctors and nurses, dealing with a lack of equipment and the threat of more bombing, try to save her life and to deliver her child by Caesarean section.
