The Syrian Network for Human Rights, which has documented deaths and destruction throughout Syria’s conflict, has released a report summarizing the scale of casualties from the surge in Russia-regime attacks on opposition areas of Aleppo.

The report, covering the period from April 20 to April 29, documents the killing of 147 civilians, including 27 children and 35 women. It assesses that 92 were slain by regime forces, including four “massacres”. Russian attacks, including three “massacres”, killed 55.

Among the destroyed “vital centers” were three mosques, two medical centers, a hospital, a civil defense center, a school, and a bakery.

A series of witness testimonies support the findings.

The SNHR concludes that the attacks violated UN Security Council resolutions:

We reaffirm that the bombardment…target unarmed civilians and, consequently, the governmental and Russian forces violated the provision of International Human Rights Law which protects the right to live….

The bulk of the bombardment, which is systematic and repetitive, the level of the excessive…force, and the coordination of the attacks could not [occur except from the] high guidance and policy of the [Assad] regime.
