Iran’s media puts out a series of signals this morning showing desire for a comprehensive nuclear deal with the 5+1 Powers (US, Britain, France, Germany, China, and Russia).

The two sides face a deadline of November 24, when interim arrangements expire.

On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the European Union’s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton will meet in Oman and try to close gaps in key issues — notably the number and level of Iran’s centrifuges for uranium enrichment — before a plenary session between Tehran and the 5+1.

Press TV headlines a statement by Kerry, “US to Pursue Final Iran-P5+1 Nuclear Deal“:

“I want to get this done,” Kerry said after a meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Paris on Wednesday, adding, “And we are driving toward the finish with a view of trying to get it done.”
The top US diplomat also noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran is entitled to enjoy nuclear energy for civilian purposes.

“They have a right to a peaceful program,” he stated, stressing, “We believe it is pretty easy to prove to the world that a plan is peaceful.”

The State outlet adds in another story, “European Diplomats Urge Iran-P5+1 deal by Deadline“.

Fars News, linked to the Revolutionary Guards, joins in with a statement from Communications Minister Mahmoud Vaezi, “The victory of the Republicans in the US Senate elections will not leave any effect on the nuclear negotiations.”

Presidential advisor Hamid Aboutalebi echoed, “Both US parties will be after reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran and strategic cooperation with Iran in regional issues, especially in fighting the Islamic State.”

And State news agency IRNA features the statement of Iran’s Ambassador to the UN, Hossein Dehqani, to the General Assembly that a comprehensive nuclear deal will benefit everyone.
