LATEST: Deputy Foreign Minister “Islamic State is Product of Israel’s Mossad”
Iran’s regime marked the 35th anniversary of the takeover of the US Embassy with rallies on Tuesday.
Fars News, the outlet of the Revolutionary Guards, claims that tens of thousands of Iranians gathered across the country “chanting ‘Death to US’…[and] stressed that the United States is the main enemy of the Iranian nation”.
Images showed Iranians protesting in front of the former US Embassy, where 52 American hostages were held for 444 days from November 1979 to January 1981.
The demonstrations occurred on the same day as large crowds of Iranians turned out for the religious holiday of Ashura:

Deputy Foreign Minister: “Islamic State is Product of Israel’s Mossad”
In the latest volley against the US and other countries over the Iraqi and Syrian crises, Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has claimed that Israeli intelligence services created the jihadist Islamic State.
“The ISIL [Islamic State] Takfiri terrorist group is a product of Israel’s Mossad and it aims to tarnish the image of Islam,” Amir Abdollahian said on Tuesday.
Amir Adbollahian again pointed to Iran’s concern over the challenge to its ally President Assad in Damascus: “Fake revolution in Syria was part of their plans.”
Worried over US military intervention in Iraq and Syria since August, Iran has claimed that Washington and Israel created the Islamic State — despite hundreds of American airstrikes on the jihadists.
