The Rouhani Government has continued its presentation of advance in nuclear talks with the US and other countries, with chief nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi praising the “strong will for negotiation” after last week’s meetings in Geneva with the 5+1 Powers.

Speaking on national TV, Deputy Foreign Minister Araqchi said the seriousness on both sides had “created a positive atmosphere” leading to detailed negotiations.

While no elements of Iran’s proposals have been confirmed, they are likely to include a suspension of enrichment of uranium to 20%, in return for acknowledgement of Tehran’s right to enrich and a start on the lifting of sanctions.

Araqchi acknowledged that there were still major differences and a long way ahead for them to be resolved.

However, he expressed hope over the future of the negotiations.
